My happiness project: Goodnight 2015, thanks for stopping by

Hey dolls! Well I can’t believe how quickly 2015 has flown by. It’s crazy! This has been a year of some serious ups and downs for me personally. Though I’m thankful that the year is coming to a close I’m also grateful to have gone through all the struggles and hard times that I have because it has shown me what strength is within me and what is in reach of me. I feel like I’ve grown so much over the last 12 months and I’m looking forward to what 2016 is going to bring.

I’ve decided not to make a resolution this year as I always end up breaking them. But instead I’ve set myself a few goals which I think will keep me driven and enable me to continue to grow over the next year.

Me and my beautiful sisters

  1. Get fit: in August my beautiful sister is getting married and both myself and my baby sister are her bridesmaids so I want to get nice and fit for her big day. This is a goal that all three of us have so we’ll be supporting each other through it all.
  2. Spring Clean my life: this means getting rid of anything that is unnecessary or anything that surrounds me with negative energy. I want to be a more grounded positive person and I think this will be the first step in the right direction.
  3. Catch up with old friends: I recently spoke to one of my best friends and we both apologised for being so bad at staying in contact. It had been about a year since we’d last spoken and so much has gone on in both our lives since then that we were both pretty upset at what poor friends we’d been. So I want to rectify this and stay in contact a lot more.

I’d love to know what resolutions you’ve made for the next year.
So long 2015, it’s been real but roll on 2016 let’s see what you’re made of!

Much love,

Blogmas #15: The Christmas Tag

Hey dolls! I recently saw the Christmas tag on Orange Owl Diaries and I knew I had to do it as I think tags are so much fun.

Image taken from Orange Owl Diaries

  1. What’s your favourite Christmas film?
I have a couple of favourites; ‘The Muppets Christmas Carol’, ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas’ and ‘Robbie the reindeer Hooves of fire’. But my all time favourite has got to be ‘The Flintstone’s Christmas’.
  2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?
I’ve had one that I can remember. I think it was 2010 and it snowed for a week straight which I didn’t enjoy but it did make Christmas feel more magical.
  3. Where do you usually spend you holiday?
With my family. We open presents, eat good food, get merry and have a great time.
  4. What is your favourite Christmas song?
I have two. The Pogues ‘Fairytale of New York’ and The Puppini Sisters ‘Jingle Bells’. They always get me feeling Christmassy.
  5. Do you open any Christmas presents on Christmas Eve?
Yes absolutely! We always open one small present on Christmas Eve night.
  6. Can you name all Santa’s reindeer?
Erm… Not without Google but I guess I could give it a go….
Donner, Dasher, Dancer, Blitzen, Prancer, Comet, Cupid, Vixen… And Rudolph.
Ooosh! I guess I can name them all.
  7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to?
Every year we get dolled up Christmas day and this year I have a gorgeous outfit planned.
  8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
100% fake. They’re so much easier to look after plus re-useable so bonus.
  9. What is your all time favourite Christmas food/sweet or treat?
My favourite food is definitely the stuffing. My step nan makes this incredible sausage and chestnut stuffing. This will be the first year I won’t be eating it (insert sad face here).
  10. Do you like giving or receiving presents better?
This is a difficult question as I enjoy both. However I tend to put a lot of thought into presents so I do love watching people open their gifts and seeing their reactions.
  11. What is the best Christmas present you ever received?
When I was in my teens my mom bought me a dvd player and I remember crying when I opened it. It was such a great day.
  12. What would your dream place to visit for the holiday?
I’d love to go to New York for Christmas. I think it would be magical.
  13. Are you a pro present wrapper or d you fail miserably?
No-one can best me and my wrapping skills. I have strong wrapping game.
  14. Most memorable holiday moment?
Spending my first Christmas away from home with my no ex boyfriends family. It was bizarre because it was so different to Christmas with family.
  15. What made you realise the truth about Santa?
Well I am one of those people who prefer to keep the magic alive. I think it’s important to do that so I will always be one of those people who say’s he’s real.
  16. Do you make New Year’s resolutions? If so do you stick to them?
Every single year I make a resolution and every single year I find it difficult to stick to them. Fingers crossed for 2016 though.
  17. What makes the holiday special for you?
I genuinely love everything about it. I feel like a giddy little child I get so excited about it. But I seriously love the food. Why is Christmas food so good???

I’d like to tag Sarah from Everything you don’t need to know about Sarah, Jasmine from Mineyeung  and Sally from SallyAkins. I can’t wait to see your answers girls.

Much love and stay cozy,

Blogmas #14: Momma bears Christmas tree

Hey dolls! So this morning I popped to my moms house before heading to work. She had finally put her tree up at the weekend and I was delighted to see that the decorative Angel I made in primary school was being proudly displayed…. It’s always been a bit of a chore to get it put on the front of the tree as it’s fluorescent orange; but at least momma bear voluntarily put it on the front this year.

As you can see… It really stands out. And yes that is a decorative spiders web on the tree.

Do you have any unique decorations on your trees? I’d love to know.

Much love,

Blogmas #13: off to Coventry to watch the rugby

Hey dolls! Today has actually been an eventful day for me. Usually Sunday’s are a day of relaxation (I used that word loosely) and house work. But today I’ve been to Coventry with a couple of friends from work to watch the London Wasps rugby match. This was very exciting for me as I’ve never been to watch a match I’ve only ever watched them on TV.

We spent the day in Coventry getting our drink on (responsibly I might add) and also having a nice pub lunch. I even got mistaken for Fleur East by a group of drunk men which was amusing. Then we headed over to the stadium for the match.

It ended up being a really nice day out even though the Wasps lost in the end I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I definitely want to go again.

Hope you all had a great Sunday too!

Much love,

Blogmas #12: Christmassy Mini Pancakes

Hey dolls! Well as you may have noticed the weather has become real crappy. Cold, wet and dismal and all it makes me want to do is have a bunch of cozy evenings all wrapped up with a film or a good to series on Netflix. But first things first…. Cozy food! So I’ve felt a little bit meh today so I decided to make some mini pancakes as I love a bit of comfort food. I realise the only Christmassy thing about these pancakes is really the garnish I added the cute watermelon star from Marks and Spencer’s Christmas food range, they’re beautiful and so tasty.

You will need:

  • Self raising flour
  • Soya milk (or any milk of your choosing)
  • 1 medium egg
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 1tsp Cinnamon (optional)

Garnish (optional)

  • Maple syrup
  • Fruit (I used M&S jewelled watermelon stars they’re so cute)

  1. Add equal measures of self raising flour and soya milk to a bowl and whisk together (my mixture made 10 mini pancakes).
  2. Once the mixture is smooth add the egg and vanilla extract then whisk into the mixture.
  3. Heat a small frying pan with a small amount of oil (I prefer to use coconut oil).
  4. Add two table spoons of the batter to the frying pan and smooth out with the back of the spoon. Once the batter starts to bubble it’s ready to turn over.
  5. Repeat until all the mixture has been used.
  6. To garnish I drizzled maple syrup over my pancakes then sprinkled some pomegranate seeds and blueberries over and added a water melon star.
  7. Enjoy!

Blogmas #10: A little Boots beauty haul

Hey dolls! Today I went to a little Christmas blogger get together in Telford which I adore as it means I get to catch up with all the lovely local blogging ladies; and as always I had to buy a few things.

I’ve been looking at the Revlon colorstay gel envy for a few months now and I’ve kept coming back to this colour in particularly which isn’t a colour I’d normally go for but its so vibrant I decided to finally take the plunge and buy it. I decided to get the gel top coat as well as I want the colour to last without chipping so hopefully this will do the trick. I also look around the 3 for 2 Christmas gifts and came across this soap and glory palette. I really liked the colours as I normally go for nude colours it is a nice change from my safe little bubble.

This little gift set is too cute and it includes the No7 eye contour brush, dramatic lift mascara, stay perfect eyeshadow, pop and glow cream blush stick.

I was lucky enough to win a 50ml bottle of Giorgio Armani Diamonds black carat for being the most festively dressed.

Feeling extremely festive in my gingerbread leggings and emoji Christmas jumper.

Much love,

Paige xx
